Here’s a vent for y’all

Amanda • Mother of two wonderful boys and 2 beautiful little girls <3

So, I need to rant for a minute. I love my dad, before I say anything. I left my daughter with him for about an hour and a half this morning, my older two stayed home. I got back, picked her up… when I did she was in the kitchen watching YouTube on his laptop and eating cereal. My mom, who had a stroke a few weeks ago finally came home today… so once she got settled in for a few hours, I took them over there. She started asking for cereal. He flat out tells her “no. You got cereal earlier without my permission!” It was THEN I found this out because my mother piped up with “well, that’s what you get for falling asleep!” She’s 5, y’all. Thankfully old enough to understand what she can and can’t do, but things can still happen! When I say I’m pissed!!!! Once he’s asleep, it’s hard to wake him… so had anything happened he wouldn’t have known! I didn’t say anything, just left it be because I don’t want to stress my mom out right now… anyway, before we leave she’s laying on the couch… she says she has to go to the restroom… he goes to help her up, and instead of letting her kind of work her way up.,, he PULLED HER UP BY THE ARM! 🤦🏻‍♀️ THEN I said something. It was also the side she had her stroke on. My cousins dog bout tore him a new asshole along with me. (My cousin stays with them for now. She wasn’t home.) I had helped her sit up a few times… not ONCE did I pull on her, I let her pull and push herself up. I love my dad… but sometimes I wonder about him… because that was thoughtless and could have REALLY hurt her! Makes me not want to leave my MOTHER over there with him by herself. Hell the day she had the stroke, my 12 year old had to help her get to the couch because my dad wouldn’t get up because he had the TV up so loud because he “couldn’t hear.” My SON had to help a 5’9, 230 pound woman who could barely walk on her own to begin with to the couch… from the other side of the house. He chewed my dad out because my mom was SCREAMING for him. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have a feeling before this is all said and done I’m gonna be my mothers caregiver. Which, I don’t mind. That’s my momma! She took care of me, she went through hell having me! It’s the least I could do. I’d do the same for my dad if needed. I have the training and skills for it! They’re both fighters… always have been!! But it’s getting to where I can’t trust my dad with my mom, let alone my kids… my mom is also diabetic, so she NEEDS him to be fully capable of helping her. She’s still a stubborn, independent old goat… but she’s getting to where she can’t take care of herself. Anyway, rant over. Sorry for the novel 🤣 just had to get it off my chest…
