(TMI) Water Broke But Sent Home?

So I’m a day from being 40 weeks. My bf and I were getting frisky and immediately after water started dripping out, about a good amount. Then 20 minutes later, a small gush. 5 minutes after than a bigger gush where it soaked my night pad and shorts. We got to the hospital and they tested to see if I’m ruptured by sticking a swab up there. (OB said I’m about 2-1/2-3cm dialated and baby is really low, more than likely will be able to go into labor naturally.) Both tests came back negative so I was sent home. At triage I was starting to get small contractions tho. I get home, eat, and was still feeling those small contractions. I got about 4 hours of sleep and contractions are now gone and no more fluid coming out. So, I’m a bit confused as to water gushing out and having it not be my water 🧐🤔🤔
