Does perming your hair actually work?

.....work to do what? Curl your hair? Yes.

Not always and it depends on your hair texture.  I have straight hair and tried to perm it to make it curly when I was a teenager.  The perm fell out in 2 weeks.

It will perm but it will grow out as your hair grows

It does curl your hair, but yeah, it will grow in whatever texture your hair normally is. Last time I got a perm was in 2015, and I loved it🥰, until it started growing in and I found out that ALL of my baby hairs had been burned off all around the edge of my hairline (front sides and back) I could only wear my hair down and had to get bangs because it was the only way to hide the horrible hair growing back in that wouldn’t lay down. 
I won’t be getting another one, ever, simply for the massive amount of damage
