Genetic test and sex of baby?

I have 4 kids and with none of my kids they did a test that give the sex of the baby but supposedly the testing they did on me will tell me if it’s a boy or a girl and I’ve always been to the same clinic with all my pregnancies 🤔 ... anyone else had this test done? Is this a new thing?

I'm currently 20 weeks with #3 and this is the first time they did the blood genetic testing. They did it because I'm 35 and considered "advanced maternal age or geriatric".

If you had the NIPT it’s actually more accurate than ultrasound

I didn’t start doing this until my 4th and I had her April 2017 my 4 before that they never did it.

Ive had it done with both of my kids. If youre over 35 they tend to push you more to do it because of the increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities. Id check with your insurance to make sure its covered first because it can get extremely pricy
