Frustrated with the medical system

About six weeks ago I started having contractions accompanied by heart palpitations that concerned my OB. It took three weeks for the referral paperwork to go through to the cardiologist another two weeks to get an appointment. My appointment was today and I am 34 weeks. The cardiologist seemed concerned and wants me to wear a monitor for 2 weeks but they only put on the monitors on Fridays and it takes at least seven days to get it approved by insurance so I have to wait another week to get the monitor. Also I need an echocardiogram but they won't do it until after I get the monitor off. I had my son at 37 weeks, so I could very well give birth before I can even find out what's going on with my heart. I brought up the concerns, and the nurse told me there was nothing she could do. It's just so frustrating.
