Would you travel 2 hours at 38 weeks ?

Hubby and I want to take a short day trip that would be a 2-2.5 hour drive on our day off together. I’ll be 38 weeks so I’m not sure if it’s too risky to be that far from our hospital.

If it’s your first I would do it as most (not all) first labors are long and you’d probably have time. If it is your second I wouldn’t go much farther than 30min to an hour.

Put your hospital bags in trunk just in case and have a nice day out! 
Personally my concern would be being comfortable in the car for that long (just did a 2-hour outing this weekend at 35 weeks and decided that was it for me for being in the car that long), but if you’re comfortable, I think it’s fine to go ahead.

I personally see no reason why not. 2 hours is nothing. My nearest hospital was 1-1.5 hours away from me... Jou just have to know how long is the eide and if something happens maybe start going in earlier.
My parents live 2 hours away I wisites i think 39 weeks... But I always had packed hospital bag with me just in case.

Yep. I still traveled with both of my pregnancies up until i have birth. If we were going a long distance i just made sure that we had bags in our car and the car seat in the trunk just in case.

I say do it! Sounds like this might be your first since you didn’t mention hauling the other kid/kids along with you or arranging babysitting, so definitely take the opportunity for one last special day with the hubby before you’re a family of 3. Bring your hospital bags and if you start to notice any signs of labor, head home. 
I would give anything for a whole day alone with my hubby to have uninterrupted adult conversation and simply enjoy each other’s company… our (wonderful amazing perfect exhausting) son is 2.5 and I can count on one hand the number of dates we’ve had since my son was born! The pandemic didn’t help…

I’m an hour and 20 minutes from my hospital so I wouldn’t go 2 additional hours away. 
But I don’t see the harm in 2 hours in total.
