We’re on the fence about getting our daughter a sandpit.

We have a couple of flower beds in the garden, and she’s constantly trying to dig in them (with tools or even just her hands) and because our neighbourhood is very heavily populated by cats (including 2 of our own) I don’t want her touching the dirt AT ALL. She grabbed some before I could stop her the other day and I noticed there was cat poop in it and I couldn’t scrub her hands enough 😩

Problem is. We’re not sure if a sandpit will redirect her urge to dig etc or just cause her to try and empty the flower beds into it so we’re debating if we’re only going to exchange one battle for another 😩

Going to the “no” thread a few posts down - we tell her no to grabbing out the flower beds and to our daughter its the funniest thing ever and it becomes a game to try and grab more so we can only stop it by picking her up and taking her in the house - which means a HUGE tantrum every time 😩

Any suggestions on how we can redirect or stop her grabbing handfuls of dirt? 😫
