Child tax credit/joint claiming a child
My sons dad and I do 50/50 and claim every other year. I claimed our son on taxes in 2020 so I received the tax credit today but my sons dad should claim him in 2021. (I claim even years, he claims odd). So I think I need to unenroll so I don’t get these payments and he can claim 2021 as normal. Can anyone confirm? I called tax places and they wouldn’t answer “general questions”.
