is my milk drying up

so unfortunately breast feeding/pumping was a fail so i decided to cold turkey dry up my milk. 3 days ago was the last time i attempted to pump, let me say that day and the day after my breasts were tick hard and beyond painful to the touch, ive been doing cold showers, cabbage leaves, and ice packs. i noticed yesterday (today? my sense of time is off lol it’s like 4am rn for me) that for the whole day i never felt pain and my one breast is starting to not feel hard anymore. does that mean this is all working?
