RH positive?

Has anyone had their doctor tell them that they’re slightly concerned about you being rhesus positive? My doctor got my blood work back (I’m almost 10 weeks) and he said that they want to refer me to an OB because I’m RH+ (which I already knew and was told to me with my first) and that they will need me to have some injection if there is any major bleeding episode? I’m very confused. Im choosing to go with a midwife again for my second pregnancy since it is also uncomplicated, and I’m getting the feeling he wants me to go with an OB so they make more money or something? My understanding was there’s only issues if mom is rhesus negative and baby turns out to be positive. 
Im going to talk to him about all this at my appointment next week, but does anyone have any idea what the hell he could mean??? 😅

That doesn’t make any sense. I’m RH positive and my doctor told me I didn’t need it. You only need the shot if you’re negative. If both you and the father are positive there is literally no need for it at all. Even if the fetus was negative, it wouldn’t cause an issue. The only time it’s an issue is if you’re negative and the fetus is positive. I’d get a second opinion.

That’s weird… I would clarify with your doctor that he said and that you are RH+… because like everyone has said and like you said, it’s only an issue if your RH-.
And even then, it’s really not a big deal. You need the rhogam shots with every pregnancy (including if there’s any bleeding episodes) but as long as you do that it’s not a big concern. 
So yes, definitely ask your doctor what the heck he was talking about lol

Sure doc told rh+?
That is no concern during pregnancy, a rh- blood is. To avoid rhesus conflict, you need rhogam shots. But that all is nessesary with rh- blood type.

I’ve only ever heard this for rh- . Kinda strange I’m RH - and we do get a shot during and after pregnancy and if there’s any bleeding. But I wouldn’t see why you would need one for being RH+.

From my understanding, you only need the shot if you’re Rh negative, not positive. Positive is no cause for concern. I would ask them about it again because that doesn’t make sense to me.
