When are times that police have done good deeds?

We all hear about negative things that cops do but let’s focus on the positive things for once. Like what are some positive things you have seen/heard of a police officers doing?
For example just tonight I was listening to news in the background and I heard of a story of a cop who saved a person’s life by using an empty bag of potato chips and tape

A police officer actually standing up and calling out the deeply embedded corruption in policing as a whole and taking the abuse that comes from whistleblowing without complaint in order to bring about real change in the organization would be a good deed worth talking about. Those are very few and very far between. I don't care how much ice cream a cop buys for kids in poor neighbourhoods or how many barbeques they go to; if they are not actively calling out corruption, holding their colleagues accountable for their actions, and refusing to cover up crimes committed by their fellow officers, then they aren't good cops.

We have a running joke in my family. I took “fuck the police” a little too literally. My baby daddy was a cop at the time of conception for both kids 😂
He thankfully saw the issues within the department and walked away from the profession. All his coworkers are honestly idiots and idk how the hell we’re supposed to trust those idiots to serve and protect us. A bunch of drug using, cheating, alcoholic, toxic morons who spend way too much time watching YouTube and playing video games. None of them have healthy relationships and all make terrible life choices. It alarms me that they’re his friends tbh. He’s also my ex for a reason so 🤷🏽‍♀️
I do know some good cops but for such a serious profession, there’s way too many rotten apples. Something has to change.

I have so many pleasant stories in my dealings with cops. One of my favorite ones; when I was about 10 my parents got a flat tire. A cop stopped to help in the pouring rain and he let me and my sister sit in the front of the cruiser while he got soaking wet changing the tire. 
There are bad people out there and I for one am thankful there are those who want to step between me and them. They sacrifice so I don’t have to! Thank you for starting this thread; the world needs some positives in all the darkness.
