2nd degree tear burning— 4 days postpartum

I have a second degree tear and in the middle of the night it started to burn like crazy. I looked with a mirror and it doesn’t appear to be infected or anything. I had a third degree tear with my first and I don’t remember it burning like that. However, my doctor had prescribed me presciption pain medicine then so maybe I just didn’t notice it. Wondering if anyone else experienced burning when their tear healed?
