How long will you let yourself be pregnant?

If my baby doesn’t come by my due date they said they will schedule me an induction at 41 weeks or as late as 41+4. I can obviously deny any induction and keep waiting but how long is too long? Is it not so safe for baby to stay in past 42? Idk I’m scared! I really don’t want to be induced at all! I want to go into labor naturally and I want her to come on her own time- this is very important to me but it being my first pregnancy I know it’s common to go up to even 42 weeks. But a friend of mine just had her baby at 41+ a few days and the baby was born w trouble breathing and had to go to NICU and her doctors told her this is common for babies who go past 40 weeks and this is why they try to get them out before 41 and definitely before 42... that scares me 
So how long will you let yourselves stay pregnant before you get induced? And why?

I personally would do it at 41 weeks just because the placenta can start to not work right and cause other issues.

I’d personally go up to 42 before I agree to be induced. I think OBs look for so many excuses to induce because it’s easier for them to schedule things than have everyone go naturally. Just for me personally though, if others would want to induce Whenever they want I wouldn’t try to convince them otherwise, I just would rather do everything nonmedically

I know you want to go into labour naturally but it comes down to your baby's safety, have the induction

Y'all are all better then me I don't carry full term as is but 40wks is pushing it for me 39 is as long as I would go by 38 if I'm not dilating I'm asking for my membranes to be swept

I wouldn’t go past 40 weeks. And you can look up tang induction at or after 39 weeks decreases C-section rates rather than increases them. I can’t stand being pregnant so induction at 39 weeks for me if I don’t go before then.

My OB said not after 40 weeks, due to a higher mortality rate in infants and issues with the placenta

I’m having my first and was told by my OB yesterday that because I’m 38 they want to see the baby around her due date

My OB won’t let his patients go beyond 41. He made that really clear during our first couple discussions, and I’m ok with it. But I’m trying to avoid induction if at all possible so I’ll go all the way up to 41 if I have to.

My doc told me he wouldn't let me go past 41 weeks. The day I turned 41 wks I'd be induced because the prolonged time can cause health issues and complications for mom and baby. I however will be induced at 39 weeks as this baby loves my lungs and keeps triggering my asthma to act up.
