Sleep training
So I have been seeing a lot of frustrated posts about sleep training and wanted to extend this who can make this work. I know not everyone has the luxury of being able to a SAHM but sleep training doesn't work for every baby and that's OK. This is honestly just an inspirational post not one to bash those who sleep train.
And neither are you or your parenting, mama.

You are not doing anything "wrong" by holding your baby.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your baby is not doing anything "wrong" by communicating her need to be with you, to smell you, to hear you, to feel you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Gordon Neufeld talks about the six stages of attachment unfolding over the first six years or so. The first stage of attachment, in babyhood, is attaching through the senses. Close proximity is a necessary part of that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we separate from our babies and try to put them on schedules, they protest...as they should. They communicate that it's not working for them. Wonderful. Listen to that. Schedules were created for adults, not for babies.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Babies have short sleep cycles, no circadian rhythm, an intense need to be close to caregivers, and tiny tummies that digest breastmilk very quickly. Babies have a lot of growing and brain develepment to do and that is fueled with loving touch, a feeling of safety, regular nursing and a mama who isn't doubting her every move becuase a broken society is feeding her myths about how babies "should" be.

Trust your intuition and your baby. How would you parent if you were on a deserted island?

(This isn't my post this is one I saw on facebook) You guys rock at being parents and always do what works for you and your baby, but maybe this is why a schedule isn't working?
