Questions about APS (Antiphospholipid Syndrome)

Amber

Hi, everyone. I'm American, living in Taiwan. I've just had a miscarriage during my first pregnancy, and my bloodwork shows I have some abnormal results on the cardiolipin tests. My doctor here is a little unpracticed in his English and I am working on learning Chinese but it's going incredibly slowly and I really can't communicate at all in Chinese yet. Because my doctor struggled to explain in English, he suggested I do some research online. I have a basic understanding now, but I'm looking for some more information. Of the two anticardiolipins tested for (IgG and IgM), only one of my results was very abnormal--the IgG was 35, IgM was only 4. My doctor says this is completely opposite of anything he has ever seen, he's only seen elevated IgM and more normal IgG. Because the Taiwanese population is a lot more homogeneous than most western populations, it's fairly common among foreigners here to come across instances where our physiology is a little different than what doctors here are used to dealing with, so I just wanted to check in with others from other areas and ask, if you're willing to share, what your specific IgG and IgM levels were and any information you might have about what treatments you did or didn't receive and how successful they were.
