COVID vaccine while pregnant ?

Did you take it ? Would you take it ? 
I had a lot of reservations about it at first. However, I’m 35 weeks now and I’m In FLORIDA, and clearly Florida has lost their mind !

Being a mom of a toddler, having a bad low postpartum, the thing that would scary me a lot would be to end up in a respirator… 
A lot of people live the virus yes, but a lot have long term symptoms. 
If a vaccine can help me a bit being more resistant to it I mean, by all means.
I’ve gotten vaccinated against yellow fever to go to Peru… for a fucking holiday. So why not to protect me against a new virus? 
Luckily I had no side effects at all and both baby and me are doing great :) 
But this is my way of thinking and it’s how my life is. 
I respect both decisions, we all are trying our best for our families.

I got mine at 21 and 24 weeks, I want to make sure my baby has some antibodies against the virus. We've been doing well 💛 Also, I'm a Healthcare worker so it was a no Brainer for me!

Talk with your doctor about it and weigh the pros and cons.  Biggest thing I would keep in mind is your exposure risk.  Personally mine was very high because of my job and that was my biggest motivation to get it.

With the increased rates of cases, the mask mandates gone, so many people rejecting the vaccine and not bothering to social distance who think they get to be around my baby when she's born, and then the delta variant wiping through adults and children alike, I ended up deciding to get the vaccine. I got my first dose at 33+4, and I'm due for my second at 36+5. I think 35 weeks is a little late to get it because it takes 5 weeks to be "fully" vaccinated, however, if you're planning to breastfeed, that transfers the antibodies to baby as well. So you can get your first dose while pregnant and then worst case, you have to breastfeed for at least a few weeks to transfer the antibodies from the second shot to baby. Or you can get the vaccine after birth and breastfeed until you're 2 weeks out from your second dose. All the studies Harvard has done show that both the placenta and breastfeeding transfer enough of the antibodies to give babies at least some protection against the virus.

I really hesitated. Got mine at 21 and 24 weeks. I’m so so glad I got it with everything going on. I lost my fil to covid. Such a sad death. I am more scared of covid than the vaccine. And I am now 35 weeks and baby and I are fine. I also didn’t experience any side effects but everyone is different

My OB said I should wait until after I deliver. I am a SAHM right now, so my risk of exposure is fairly low. My husband and everyone else in my family have gotten it. My state also has relatively low case rates compared to many others. I’ll get it while I’m nursing to ensure antibodies get passed on to the baby that way.

I got mine at 13 and 17 weeks and it was the hardest decision for me to make. Best advice is you really have to take in to consideration your risks of exposure. For myself and my family we had a higher exposure and it wasn’t worth the risk. I wouldn’t say I feel like all is well now that my husband and I are vaccinated but it definitely helped lift some of that stress. I hope it’s a little different now but don’t let others view of the vaccine influence what works best for your family. I got told I must want my baby to die because I chose the vaccine and that really hurt but baby and I are doing great here at 34 weeks. I got mine in my second trimester. I feel peace of mind knowing that I am protected, and that my baby will get antibodies for the virus both in utero and through breast milk when I nurse. The risks of Covid complications to a pregnant woman / fetus far outweigh the risks of the vaccine. (FWIW, I had zero side effects after my shots except a sore arm, which is standard for any shot)

I got mine at 32&36 weeks. My OB wanted me to get it sooner but I was so afraid it would send me into labor so I wanted until I knew he could have survived in the NICU. I’m so glad I did it though. I have a happy and healthy boy!

I’ve been fully vaccinated for months. Any reaction shows up within 2 weeks, but at the latest 2 months. Me and my daughter are completely fine ☺️ to each their own. Speak with doctors and educated professionals and make a decision you and your doctors are most comfortable with!
