5 weeks brown spotting? Help

I’m 5w2d and started spotting this on Friday night. Off and on. Went to ER and they don’t know if it’s a miscarriage or not. The ultrasound showed a gestational sac. No blood so they don’t know where it’s coming from.  Had an ectopic last year and a miscarriage on New Years. 
Anybody else have this?

Another commenter stated this was “normal”. It most likely isn’t a cause for concern, but spotting or bleeding during pregnancy is never “normal”. Some people tend to use normal and common interchangeably..
You need to contact your OBGYN. Any time you’re concerned about anything, that should be your first point of contact. Do NOT go to the ER unless it’s an emergency, or your doctor has instructed you to do so. Prayers your way!

Thank you ladies. My hcg was 859 on Friday and it more then doubled since Wednesday. They’ve been monitoring me every 2 days. Did not expect this Friday night. I have to go back in Tuesday but might need to do bloodwork again tomorrow instead

My fertility doctor told me to expect spotting in the first several weeks but if it was continuous or felt like it was more than just spotting, like you need a liner, then to give them a call.

Monitor it and if it remains spotting it should be less of a worry I am told. Try to get in and see an OB

So my HCG levels dropped. So I guess that’s that. Now I just need to figure out how soon they go back to 0. 😭
