LONG BIRTH STORY!
My due date was 07/15/21, I had an appointment that day and had a cervix check and a membrane sweep. When the doctor checked me I was 3cm dilated. I was sent to L&D triage to be monitored just in case there was a change in my cervix. I got sent home 2 hours later. After the membrane sweep, I began losing my plug through out the entire day. I walked so much and bounced on my ball but nothing. On 07/16/21 I had planned an all day outing because I was scheduled to be induced on 07/17/21 at 4pm and I really wanted the baby to come on her own. We walked the dog and went to the mall and just walked the mall for hours and afterwards we went home. After we got home we decided to go to Olive Garden around 7:30 pm, we ate and left right before 9pm. We got home and we wrapped things up for the night. Around 12 am I went to use the bathroom and noticed blood in the toilet, when I wiped I had bright red blood and noticed I had my bloody show! After using the bathroom I began having contractions and pressure. I didn’t want to go to the hospital until I KNEW I NEEDED to go! Around 12:50 I began having stronger contractions and KNEW we had to go soon. We called my sister, who lived about 10 - 15 minutes away, to pick up our daughter. After my sister left with our daughter we started making our way to the car. It was already 1:30am and we started driving to the hospital which was almost half an hour away. While driving to the hospital the contractions started getting worse. When we got to the hospitals parking garage, we were grabbing all of our things and started walking towards the hospital. We had to keep stopping because the contractions were so bad and I felt like walking made it worse. When we finally got across the street to the hospital I had to leave my boyfriend down stairs and walk to the other side of the hospital by my self. They offered me a wheelchair, which I said no to, and I ended up walking to the other side of the hospital and had 4 contractions back to back that lasted an eternity on my walk to the elevators. When I finally got to the elevators I just started crying. I was in so much pain and all I wanted was for my boyfriend to just come with me, he makes everything better with how supportive and loving he is. When I got in the elevator I went up to labor and delivery around 2:15. I had to sign paperwork before they put me in triage and once I got to triage they asked me to undress and pee in a cup. When I finally got into a room I started sweating and I was so hot, I was fanning myself and the contractions were just terrible. The physician checked my cervix and said my water bag wanted to burst and I was 5 cm dilated. I got admitted at 2:26am and a nurse started asking me a million of questions and it felt like an eternity. I was asked if I wanted an epidural an i said yes! I wanted to have a natural birth but the pain was unbearable and I just wanted to feel better. I got my IV hooked up in triage and the nurse who was going to wheel me into my L&D room was trying to pick me up and I told her no because I was still able to walk and she was and older lady so I didn’t want her trying to do that. I walked to the wheel chair and she wheeled me over to my room at 2:53 am. At 2:54 my boyfriend was called up and while he was on his way up the anesthesiologist came in to start my epidural. I was contracting and in so much pain as the anesthesiologist was getting ready to put the needle in my spine he told me whenever I got a convection I had to let him know. When my boyfriend got to the room he was told to sit in front of me and hold me while I leaned into a pillow and got the epidural inserted. I was crying in pain and as I sat there waiting for them to finish putting in my epidural I got another contraction and my water broke. They had to stop the epidural process because I told them my water broke and I felt the need to push and I just screamed and started to push as I sat down and the doctors were telling me not to but I felt like I couldn’t. The doctor checked to see if I was fully dilated and I heard her say to the OB “she’s complete its time to push”. They got suited up and i started pushing. I felt EVERYTHING! The baby was out by the fourth push and was here on 07/17/21 at 3:10am! This was my second pregnancy. With my first I didn’t get to have my water break on its own and I had the epidural so I couldn’t feel anything but the terrible contractions. I felt like I couldn’t be apart of my own labor and delivery and have that natural experience since I had to be induced. With this second pregnancy I got to experience EVERYTHING! And I was also able to have a natural birth. It was so draining and so painful, but it was the most beautiful experience ever. I am so grateful and blessed to have two princesses that are healthy and doing great I have my 6 year old and a newborn and I am in love! To all the moms who had their baby congratulations ♥️ and to the moms who are still waiting, the baby will come when the baby is ready to come, and when the time does come remember, your body is made to get through this and it will be painful but you can do it and it’ll all be worth it when it’s all over ❤️🙏🏼
