Do you have to go if the bride wants you to be her bridesmaid

If you got invited to a wedding to be a bridesmaid would you go? The relationship I have with this person isn’t so good and her ‘husband’ cheated on her multiple times and even tried to with me 😳

No one can force you to do anything.... 
you can either decline politely a simple "I'm happy to attend but I cannot be your bridesmaid " - if you want too of course (this may lead to other questions as to why though)
you can be the person who says "look we don't like each other that much, so although I'm flattered you still want me to be bridesmaid I have to decline"
Or be a complete "bitch" (that's what bride will call you) and tell her you don't believe in this wedding so will not be attending ... we don't like each other oh and your oh is a cheating so and so.

I have declined bridesmaid requests because my life was just too busy at the time. Normal people and actual friends understand if you just can't do it... You don't have to go to the wedding also, you don't owe anyone anything especially someone like that.

No you don’t and most people should be able to understand that. Being a bridesmaid also takes time and money, something a lot of people don’t have extra of, so you can decline for those reasons too. I wouldn’t be her bridesmaid if we aren’t on good terms and her husband tried to cheat with me before, that’s awkward.

Omg! This happened to me! He never tried to pick me up because he was my husband’s (boyfriend at the time) best friend. The two had grown up together and I got to know her from when the guys lived together in college. When he turned 21 he turned into a total pig. Constantly at the bars, trying to pick up other women, etc. My husband was over it and him and didn’t condone what he was doing. At the time, she and I worked together and I would gently try to tell her of his actions and she was so in denial she’d get mad at me. I gave up. Then she asked us to be in the wedding. Thankfully, I was in college and planning my own wedding and my fiancé had just gotten laid off so we used not being able to afford it as an excuse. A couple years later, they divorced when he got a DUI and had another girl with him only to find out this other girl was pregnant with his kid shortly after. Sadly, he was the one to file for divorce and she still wouldn’t admit that he didn’t love her.

Its actually very understandable why you wouldn’t want to take part in this wedding. I wouldn’t go either. I would actually make it very clear why you won’t be attending and I wouldn’t have anything else to do with those people.
