Baby's first cold
So I have been so careful about not having people who are suck hold my baby girl and been really careful with washing hands etc. But my niece and her mum came and visited two weekends ago. (Live with my in-laws and my niece is there first granddaughter so can't really say no to visiting) my niece started getting really sick and when she went home was tested for covid and other viruses and it came back that she had Rhinovirus. (Negative on covid). I started getting sick the day after they left and I've been as careful as I could be to avoid getting my little girl sick but last night she was so unsettled and then when she woke up for her first feed her nose is blocked and she has a little cough and just wants mummy cuddles and to sleep (and eat when hungry).
What can I do to help her feel a little less blocked up with her nose? I have a snot sucker and have been using it to clear her nose.
She's five weeks old today and hasn't had her vaccinations yet 😭
I feel so terrible because I know I am likely to be the one that passed it onto her, but it's impossible to stay away from her as I'm EBF.
