8 year gap? HELP 😩

Hey mamas,
I have a son who will be turning 8 in September. I was just wondering if there are any mamas that have children with a significant gap? Fiancé & I would like to begin TTC but I’m just wondering how your eldest child took the news when you finally got pregnant & how they took it once baby arrived. 🤔

I babysit for a family with a 12 y/o, 9 y/o, and 18mo baby. The two older ones love their baby brother so much! and he loves them, he always goes to cuddle with them, play ball with his brother. They all get along great. The oldest one said that when her brother the 9 y/o was little, she wished she was an only child, but now she doesn't and she loves her brothers. So it seems like the older children get, the more they appreciate having a sibling.
I have tons of siblings but the one I was closest with growing up is the sister 10 years older than me. She was like my little mommy even through her college years I would go everywhere with her. I was the first one she told about her pregnancy, I babysat her newborn when I was 11, and now my niece and I are super super close, with her at 19 and me at 30. It's like an extension of how close my sister and I were growing up.
I bet your 8 y/o will be so happy to have a sibling, dote on them, be their big protector, etc. Don't worry!

I have a 14yr old and my newborn that was born May 20th..14 yr gap actually worked out perfect. My daughter is happy and excited to see her baby sister grow up, she LOVES her baby sister very much. She also enjoys helping me out with her, I couldn't had asked for more, they are perfect.

We have a 10 year gap. My son is OBSSESSED with his 2 week old sister! He absolutely loves her! He tries to help in anything he can and he kisses her and hugs her and talks to her.

I have a 16 year age gap... 2 boys 16 and a newborn.. both were ooopsies but wouldn’t gave it any other way... Ive also had 3 losses in between those 2 miscarriages and a stillbirth at 7 months

My little brother and I are 9 years apart and we're closer than my brother who is 2 years younger than me. I loved having a little brother. I helped a lot. I even became a certified babysitter at 11 to watch him more frequently.

I’m 11 and 13 years older than my baby sisters, and I love it. I’m closer with them than the sisters I have a 2 and 5 year gap with. I remember being excited about the one when I was 11, and less thrilled about the next one when I was 13, but once she was born I was excited.
