Do y’all post pics of your babies?

My husband and I decided early on that we would not send (via text or any other means) or post (on any platform) pictures of our baby. The same was true for our ultrasound pictures. I just know that people take screenshots and save pictures to their phones and things like that. Honestly, it freaks me out to think someone I don’t even know could have a picture of my child. Or that someone I do know could have pictures of my baby that I don’t know about. We also don’t let others take pictures of our baby. My best friend sent me a video of my baby that she took without my knowledge when we went to her house, and it honestly pissed me off. Everyone knows these are my rules. I haven’t been back to her house or let her see the baby again. If she had asked me, I might have said okay. But she purposely took the video and made sure I didn’t notice when she did it. Ugh!
I am definitely tempted to post 😂 but I will not be posting. So my question is, do you guys post pictures of your babies? Why or why not? Opinions?

I post but it’s extremely controlled if that makes any sense. I totally understand your concerns because let’s face it… the internet harbors just about every type of person and we’ve all heard horror stories. I generally only post to Facebook and I don’t friend people I don’t know. But, I also own an embroidery business specializing in children’s wear and post things my child is wearing etc so that is public. However, I usually only post lighter things. I would never post pictures of my child in a vulnerable condition. I see so many parents posting kids right out of surgery or very sick and I think it’s just unnecessary. My job is to protect. No one needs to see my child like that. My late daughter had a severe genetic disability and while I would give updates on her status, I would never post pictures from hospital or doctor visits. I kept it light and hopeful and most of all just extremely loving. Don’t let others make you feel like it’s a competition though! You should only do what you feel comfortable with. I’m sure your baby is beautiful. We all feel that way with our littles. I totally get it

We post very limited and always family/group pictures (maybe 2-3 times a year). We don’t post our kids full names, only nicknames & never state their DOB. My reasons are safety, identity theft, and privacy. Personally I feel like they should have a say in their online narrative, especially since it is/will be so easy to find all the pictures connected to someone. When my child is an adult does a future employer or friend need to have access to daily or possibly embarrassing photos of my kids, no. But for my family, we are also ok with sharing the occasional family photo for Christmas or other special occasion. That’s the balance that works for us & hopefully my kids will be ok with that when their older.

Ive only posted a few photos that dont really show her face and are more "family" photos than all about her. I also just post on my temporary "story" so it's not permanently on my feed for everyone to refer to later. But i do share a lot of photos direcrly with my very close friends and family who see her all the time. I trust them and am happy they enjoy the photo updates. They have also enjoyed getting cute snapshots of her to admire later, just like I do. For me I decided I don't feel it's worth the energy to worry about the "worst case" of them having some photos of her. My reasoning is the more they grow up and get socializing in the world too many photo ops come up to keep track of anyway - daycare activities, family events, school, sports events, bdays, etc

I don’t post whatsoever. I don’t see the point. When I want someone to see my baby, they come to my house to see her. Everyone else is irrelevant to me. Plus there are so many predators and wack jobs lurking around online nowadays. No thanks.

Among family we shared photos and videos of the kiddies. But never posted on social media. I’m with you; I know who is viewing my baby. I know my kiddo is cute (maybe mom bias), but I personally don’t care what strangers think of my little in. 🤷🏽‍♀️ 
With that said, I love seeing others pics! It livens up the news feed

I don’t see anything wrong with sending pictures to people you know. As long as they know not to share them without your permission. I also dong mind if family or friends take pictures of our baby. 
I do post some on social media, but as baby gets older I will lessen what I post. I only post certain things. 
But as the parents you can decide whatever you want! As long as you and your partner are on the same page you can be as strict as you want.

It is very rare that my husband and I post pictures of our kids to social media. While we both have private accounts and aren't friends with people we don't know, we don't feel comfortable putting too much out there. We downloaded an app (Family Album app) and have invited our immediate family to be able to view any pictures/videos that are posted. We thought this was a great way to keep the grandparents connected to the grandbabies without blowing up Facebook, Instagram, etc. While they could take screenshots/download those pictures, I know they are not posting things behind our backs.

We haven’t shared any photos on social because we feel it’s not our call to flood the internet with pictures of our son before he’s able to decide whether or not he wants that for himself. He can consent to his photo being used when he’s able to. That said, in the future, I may post photos that don’t show his face but I, too, don’t like the thought of his picture being in places that I don’t know about. Not when he’s 10 weeks old.

I don’t regularly, a family photo is my profile picture and that’s about it and it doesn’t clearly show her face. I do share with friends and family over Snapchat and messenger but that’s about it and I’ve made clear that I don’t want photos shared.
