Newborn feedings?

Wondering how often your babies are eating through the night? We were told to wake our little guy up every 2-3 hours when we were in the hospital, now he’s 3 weeks old. From what I gather from other moms it seems like he can be sleeping for longer intervals at night?? What are you guys doing?!

Is he up to birth weight? If he is then its ok to let him sleep. If he isnt then he still needs to be woken up to feed until hes at birth weight.

If he is above birth weight it should be fine, although I think the recommendation is to wait until after 4 weeks to let them sleep. My LO slept 5-6 hours overnight from 3 weeks and just made up his feeds during the day instead ☺️ 
They’ll let you know when they’re hungry ☺️

If you're breastfeeding, just feed on demand. Waking to feed can make an oversupply and leads to issues.

Ask your pediatrician if he’s okay to sleep longer stretches, they will give you the best answer for your baby.
