I'm in the UK they aren't recommend and hard to buy them. If you do choose to use one, please don't use it for reassurance. We have a charity called Kicks Count and they have a lot more information.

I used one with mine because I worried a lot. But honestly it was the coolest thing. I would just lay there and listen to his heartbeat and him swishing around in the for a little. You can hear a lot. I didn’t do it to often but it was a nice experience.

It’s not recommended by midwives and doctors because (especially if you don’t know what you’re doing) it can be difficult to find the heartbeat until you’re 16-20 weeks. All it often does is cause stress rather than relieve it. 
If you opt to get one, bring it to your midwife or doctor so they can at least show you how to properly use it and give you guidelines on how often you should use it and when you should put it away.

I bought one solely for fun, and I love it. I don’t use it for making sure baby is okay. It was just to hear the heartbeat at home since my husband can’t come to every appointment.

I have one at just found the heartbeat yesterday at 8 weeks 3 days. I don’t use it for reassurance. I use it because it’s so amazing to hear it. I will still rely on regular check ups and probably stop using all together once I can feel kicks which will be even more heartwarming than the sound of the cute little heartbeat. If you use it for fun I think it’s fine

I haven't but bought one. I'll be 8 weeks next week and it says you can use it then but I may wait a bit.
