When do you plan to start oatmeal/rice?

We don’t, eventually we do give oatmeal but just as a normal breakfast option. We start with veggies and fruits at 6mos.

Started at 4 months for a week now bc of loose stools due to excess drool from teething. Ped advised to do so, I was against it but gave in cause shes pooping loose all night and day. No fever, nothing else wrong .... however imo shes not ready for solids and its a waste cause idk if any gets swallowed.

Baby oatmeal/rice has a lot calories but not a whole lot of nutrition, so some pediatricians are now recommending against using it unless your baby needs to increase weight gain. My LO is 4 months and I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to feed her any 🤷‍♀️

We did avocado puree first, then baby oatmeal, at about 4 and a half months. He's a formula baby with reflux and other aero-digestive issues, so our food choices and timing are partly due to that.

Oh I see! Maybe that’s why my pediatrician mentioned starting my son on food at 5 months and skipping oatmeal (that I started at 4 months when my daughter was younger).
