Are newborn shots necessary after birth?

Vitamin K & HepB shot is what i was told. 
I don’t even remember with my first born. Anyone else just skip first shots?

Do noooooot skip the first shots. The vitamin k prevents your baby from bleeding to death internally in case of a little bump or fall. It can just happen! And hepatitis b is contagious through bodily fluids like blood and whatnot. It causes liver failure. It’s totally preventable.

With my daughter we delayed the Hep B vaccine because I went into anaphylaxis when I got it at age 12. I think she got it at her 2 week appointment because her pediatrician made sure they had everything prepared for any situation but luckily she didn’t have a reaction.

We do oral vitamin k unless there’s any bruising or bleeding issues then the shot (my second and third were both preemies that needed iv’s right away so we did the shot).  We don’t do hep b until 1-2 years old though.  I don’t see the reason when we’re not in an at risk household, especially when you don’t know what’s “normal” behavior yet to know if something is wrong.  I also had a horrid allergic reaction to the hep b vaccine when I was 13 though and the doctor tried to tell my mom the reaction was unrelated to the vaccine.  So I think that’s part of the reason I’m super cautious with that one specifically.

We do the vitamin K but always skip the Hep B right after birth. Baby is just so little and I don’t see a need to inject them with a Hep B shot minutes after being born unless there’s going to be known exposure. We still get that for our baby- but we wait to start the series at 2 months old.

Absolutely skip them if you don’t feel comfortable with them. Your baby doesn’t have a sexually transmitted disease. They check your for Hep b before they’re born. And they produce their own Vit k in a few days. I just do Vit k drops.

I dont skip any shots. I trust my health care system and as someone who never went to school to study medicine, no matter how much research i think i find online, i have no idea what im reading so i leave it to the professionals
