Membrane sweeped

Soo I went to my appointment today I’m 39 weeks & 4 days & she suggested sweeping my membrane while checking my cervix & she went around like 2 or 3 times to just let me see how it felt & I made her stop bc it was painful she didn’t stop immediately hints the 2 or 3 times , would that still aid in me going into labor soon ? I’m due the 8th. I was dilated to almost 2cm & my cervix is thinning about 40% according to the doctor. I’ll never get that done again .. I’m still in a little pain from it ..
