Baby Hugh arrived

👩🏻

On Aug 3rd. I had a sweep done at 40+1. I swear she did it twice. I was already 4cm dilated and 70% effaced. After that I went and did a little curb walking and went home. I have been scared for months of not knowing when I would be in labor since my daughter came very quickly after going to the hospital. With her I arrived at 7cm for my induction with no pain. This time I was timing contractions that were pretty mild, but my timer app said it was time to go to the hospital. I called my mom to come over and called my midwife. She told me to go to the hospital just to be safe, but later admitted she wouldn’t have told any other mothers to do so. When we got to triage the contractions had calmed down, but they decided to admit me anyway because of my history. As they wheeled me to my room the pain started to increase. I had enough time to go to the bathroom and get on the bed before I had to breathe through the contractions. The midwife checked me and I was 7cm and my water broke. I felt like I had to push straight away, but not very strongly. Soon I couldn’t help it. I felt like the baby was coming and had her check me again. I was at 10 and pushed that baby right out. Baby was born 2 hours after walking in the front door of the hospital. I’m glad my husband had already taken the day off of work. I ended up with 5 stitches and a first degree tear because his hand came out with his head. 8lb 8oz and 21”.
