Potty training?

It still feels early to be thinking about real potty training, or I don’t know if this might just be a normal phase they go through as their communication improves?

My daughter is becoming very aware of when she’s filling her nappy (wet or dirty) and telling us straight away “wee wee or pooooh!” She’ll occasionally go get a new nappy out of the draw and lay down ready to be changed too.

We’ve had a potty out and available to investigate for a couple of months now and she often follows me to the bathroom so she’s seen me go, she doesn’t actually do anything when she sits on the potty but she’s happy to sit on it etc (we let her go nappy free 15-20 mins before bed at the minute) she also likes to get a tissue to wipe with 🙈🤣

My friend came around last week and her daughter is 8 months older and well into her potty training so I’m having a hard time deciphering if it’s a good time to start potty training because we’re getting some signs or is she just a little more interested because she saw her friend using hers (brought their own)

Is anyone in this group already potty training or considering it soon? How’ve you gone about it?
