Charges for Enabling Child Abuse/Statutory Rape
I apologize if this has been posted here before, but I couldn't find anything on it.
This is a very disturbing case of a 24 year old getting a 12 year old pregnant. Anyone can see how 🤢 gross, disturbing, disgusting, and heartbreaking this is. Yet, everyone in their situation seems oblivious to just how messed up this is.
The man and mother of the girl were arrested, but from what I read a lot of people knew about their relationship. There was even a baby shower thrown for them.
My question is: Do you think other adults should be held accountable and charged for enabling this child abuse if they knew about it and chose not to report it?

(The 1st screenshot was on a different website because that's where I originally read it, but used a different site for the rest because there were too many ads on the first.)
EDIT: I want to address this because I'm not trying to attack other cultures. They are from Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. I don't know their background, but I'm assuming they are US citizens. In the US this kind of relationship is illegal and considered statutory rape. I understand other cultures are different and this may be acceptable elsewhere, but this is the US.
The guy was arrested and is being charged, so this isn't a discussion about whether it's acceptable. It's a discussion about should knowing adults be charged when they know about child abuse/rape and do not act?
