14 Weeks Placenta Previa Bleeding
My situation is 14W, identical mo/di twins both with hydrops and both with Downs. I woke up at 3am yesterday morning with a feeling of being wet like I had peed a little. I felt between my legs and my fingers were covered with blood. When I went to the restroom, I passed several large clots. I was not in any pain at all and the bleeding stopped and very quickly turned to a light pink then brown stringy consistency.
I called my doctor’s office and the on call said if I was no longer actively bleeding, not passing tissue, not in any pain, no contracting, etc., that I should lay back down and call the office at 8 to have an emergency US and to have my cervix checked. Right before my appointment and when I left my sample both times I passed a good bit stringy brown old blood.
The US showed no hemorrhages, but my placenta is extremely close to my cervix (as if I needed any additional complications) and it was possible that my placenta is trying to separate. The babies’ condition looked no better than it did last Friday. My cervix was closed and I had some old old bloody discharge on my cervix.
I had more bleeding this morning, but did not pass any large clots, nor did I have any pain or contractions. It turned to a light pink and then dark brown within an hour. I’m very scared moving forward. My pregnancy will not last much longer (my decision based on the health and outcome) and I’m terrified of that decision I’ve made, but it’s also terrifying knowing what all can go wrong between then and now. My doctors seem extremely concerned. I’m just not in a good place with this much wanted pregnancy.
