I am insanely confused 😠I think my GYN lied to me!
I had a c-section 3 yrs ago and had an IUD placed right after delivery.
2 yrs ago in 2019 My husband and I decided that we would try for another baby. I went to my gyn and asked to have my IUD removed. First of all these doctors have taken a liking to always trying to talk you out of getting the IUD removed. I mean, you're not supporting my child nor is it any of your concern. So unprofessional. Anyways, she hesitantly goes and "removes" my IUD and proceeds to show me the devise before she tossed it. I left the office feeling quite content on finally being able to start ttc.
Well fast forward to 2021 and still no baby. Thankfully I'm healthy and so is my husband we never had issues getting pregnant. We have 4 kids in total. So I was very discouraged as to what was taking us so long to conceive. Something was tugging at my heart and telling me to make an appointment with a new gyn and check things out.
When asked for the reason for the visit I told the MD that honestly I couldn't remember if my iud was in place or not. She seemed confused as to how I didn't know if I had an iud or not but she checked me and said she couldn't see any strings. So I'm thinking ok then I don't have an iud in so I'm Def having fertility issues [ I'm 41] my MD Wanted to schedule me for a sono to confirm. The sonographer wasn't trying to give me any info as to what she was seeing. She said my doctor will call me and let me know. I left the office completely thinking I'm just less fertile and I'm IUD-less.
My gyn calls me later on in the day and tells me that I do infact have an iud in my lower uterine segment and it's just the case that the iud string has retracted hence why she couldn't see it when she did the pelvic exam. My heart stopped and I'm in shock still. How the hell do I have an IUD when I had it removed 2 yrs ago!!! And the doctor at the time even showed it to me?????
Did she lie to me and didn't remove it?
I really don't want to belive that.
I'm still with a huge question mark over my head.
