Am i being petty?

Question

Im a stepparent to 2 teens a 13 year old and a 15 year old. 
Their mom has 2 younger kids a 6 year old and a 3 year old. 
They come over every weekend. 
Well this school year they want it to be in person for everyone. No virtual option. My 4 year old son was going to go in person to prek but after hearing about the delta variant im pulling him out. I also have a 1 year old at home. 
So this year the girls said all their siblings are going in person even the 3 year old. And they keep getting together with other people. So i have mentioned to my husband we should find an alternative, like them coming over on vacations. And he got mad. And i told him i dont feel safe having them come over every weekend when all 4 of them are going in person. So this has caused an argument but my kids health is what worries me. 
And yes new variants can come out every year but as for now there isnt a vaccine for them yet.
I am in a city where the cases are super high.
Back in january my husband got sick because everyone in their household got sick and they never told us and they sent the kids over sick. They had all the symptoms so they knew it was covid.

girl i would be mad too, you told him HIS kids shouldn’t/can’t come over.
it’s not like it’s his extended family or a friend, those are HIS kids.

You’re being petty. Telling him he can’t see his kids is pretty outrageous. If you’re concerned about Covid (which is a reasonable concern) you can insist that everyone wears masks when they’re at the house. You cannot keep him away from his kids. His relationship with YOUR child is not more important than his relationship with this other kids. Please reflect.

He is their parent too. Parents need to deal with sick kids. Doesn’t matter the custody agreement unless it specifically states the mom should do all the caring for sick kids. Come on now! I get where you are coming from but you make it sound like it’s kids that don’t live there.

That is tricky, but since they're his kids, I don't think you can flat out stop them from coming over. It sounds like you and your husband are going to have to have an open discussion with their mom about your expectations for how everyone is going to do their best to limit any spread of Covid, or any sickness. If anyone in either household is feeling sick, that's communicated asap. Also, will the girls be wearing masks in school? Is everyone that can be vaccinated vaccinated?

I believe everyone on here sounds stupid 😂 it’s not that she is keeping him away from his kids. It’s her worried about HER KIDS. BECAUSE MY CHILD COMES BEFORE ANYONE. I would be concerned for my children and my children only. Yes those are his kids but if they wanna hang with people and things when there is new stands out then they can stay away or video call. My child IS MY PRIORITY. he needs to figure out a way to see his kids and keep yours safe.

People on here are being harsh. If they were in ur shoes don’t think they would be saying all they saying. 
Anyway, try and work something out where his kids are separated from y’all. Mask up, sanitize everything when they leave, let them have a designated area they are able to stay. Have Hand sanitizer and rubbing alcohol stations around every corner, glove up in the house. Outside clothes washed as soon as they come in your house ( Idk who y’all been around) 
Because if anything and one or all of his kids gets Covid, they have to quarantine and then really can’t see their father.

His kids don’t have a choice like you had a choice for your 3 year old. There are many families with older and younger children and they are a cohesive household throughout all of this. Grow up and figure out how to make it work just like every other family.
