How do you split rent?!

Question

How do you guys split rent with your SO? Especially when one person is likely to make about double what the other is?
Do you split 50/50 regardless? Do you say person A with higher income pays 70% and person B with lower income pays 30%? 
I’ve never lived with an SO before and not quite sure how to approach this conversation!

Both pur checks go into the same account.  It's not "my money" or "his money". It's our money.  All of the bills come out of the account.
We can each spend up to $40 without checking with eachother first, anything over that we check with eachother to make sure we don't need that money for anything else.
We haven't had a fight over finances this way.

We have joint accounts but if we didn’t it would be 50/50. I don’t feel like someone should have to pay more just because they make more. They are only occupying 1/2 the space not 75% of it etc.

My fiancé and I sat down and wrote out a budget for each of us.  He makes more then me so I told him what I’d be able to afford and then he’d cover the rest. I’d say it’s probably close to 60/40 then he pays the electric and gas bills

We each had bills to pay based off income. If he makes 70% of the income, he pays 70% of the bills. This seemed the most fair to us, my husband made way more money than me… I work part time AND take care of all the child and house duties, whereas he’s got the ability to work full time and focus solely on his career.

Before baby I was making 3x what my SO does so I paid 3x more rent. Now he’s a stay at home dad so I pay it all

Weekly my husband makes $1200 and I make $450. 
So obviously he makes almost triple what I make. But we just put our weekly checks into the account, and then have “spend” money. 
So I guess I just don’t know who pays rent: we both do. 
All I know is I have $150 every week for myself and so does he and all our bills are PAID!

We do 50/50 but make in the same range. Maybe you could shift bills around though to be more fair, like split rent but the higher earner pays utilities
