Induction Stories???

Question

So I found out today that if I don’t go into labor naturally by 38 weeks, my doctor wants to schedule an induction because I’m VERY small and my baby is quickly running out of room and is consistently measuring ahead. 
But I am SO afraid of being induced. Like I’d almost rather have a c-section because of all the horror stories I’ve heard and the amount of inductions that turn into emergency c sections anyway. 
PLEASE share some positive induction experiences with me 🥺 and please let me know which method worked best for you

I was induced with my first and it was a great and very positive experience! They inserted cervadil to help thin my cervix and I didn’t even end up needing pitocin because I started contracting and dilating on my own. Labored for a few hours, got an epidural and when it was time to push, I pushed for 10-15 minutes and had my beautiful little girl! Minimal tearing and super fast recovery. I wish everyone could have that induction experience! Good luck!

So many doctors are normalizing inductions for no real medical emergencies at all! Your body wants to naturally go into labor, not artificially. Definitely do your research on doctors forcing inductions, it is scary and unnecessary. I wish you a healthy labor 💕

Hi! I had a wonderful smooth and chill induction with my first. My labor progressed great and I actually dilated ever fast once I got the epidural at 6cm. It was 12 hours totally and I pushed for an hour and had a beautiful big baby at 9lb 3oz. Just stay grounded and positive. You are so much stronger than you think. You already have everything you need to do this mama 💪🏻💛

Every induction is different! I just had an induction tonight actually… 37weeks 3 days due to gestational hypertension. I was given cytotec around 12pm and he was born at 8:16pm! Easiest delivery. Practiced pushed twice then two more pushes once the doctor got there and he was born.

I had an elective induction with my last baby and it was a good experience. I went in at night at 3 cm and started with the foley bulb to help continue dilating and softening cervix. It was uncomfortable but not painful. The next morning bulb came out, started pitocin and water was broken. After about 2 hours the contractions were pretty intense and I opted for an epidural. After epidural I was able to rest and actually took a nap, I woke up and was 10 cm. My total labor was about 6 hours. My baby ended up having a nuchal cord x2 so if she had been much bigger her outcome could’ve been much different. 
I have another induction scheduled for Sept 1 at 6 am!
A lot of people, even with no experience with it are extremely negative about induction. I feel it’s 100% your choice just as everything else is in your journey as a mother.

Got pitocin at 38 5 with first baby , everything went perfectly fine I am not sure why people say it's horrible but my experience was great. It was nice not to rush to the hospital and be surprised everything was planned. And your monitored the whole time till ur 10cm . It could also depend on the hospital , physician and pain tolerance of each that changes experiences but mine was fine I would do it again if I could 🙂

Love this post. My doctor was actually sharing a study with me about how inductions at 39 weeks helps decrease C-section rates for FTM’s. I found it interesting. This is my second and she wants to induce me by 39 weeks if I don’t go into labor naturally since my baby is measuring large.
