I have chronic patellar tendonitis in my left knee, I work retail and am on my feet 8+ hours a day which really aggravates my knee to the point where walking is extremely painful for me. I have tried taking NSAIDs, I have a knee brace but with retail it’s not very “professional” looking (I work at a higher end type of store.) so nothing has helped, also have Seen my PCP and he suggested physical therapy which obviously is not a quick fix and will take time. I have an appointment for an orthopedic specialist in a few weeks. Would it be ableist of me to get a wheelchair for work? I am not disabled but I have chronic pain which makes walking very painful. And would my job fire me if I got a wheelchair?
