I wasn't sure which group to choose for this, but I hope to get some suggestions from you.

My dog is not eating off the counter if we are awake, even if we are upstairs, but when we go to sleep he waits a little bit and then he goes around the house looking for food and attacking anything that we left on the counter. He is a really tall husky. We try to keep the kitchen closed and remove anything from the counter but sometimes we forget. Do you have any ideas to improve his behavior? I am thinking about leaving a toast with wasabi o something like that so he tries it out and gets scared for good, but I don't think he will buy it, he is pretty good smelling stuff like that.
