Saying ily.. is it that deep?

When dating is it okay to not say ily back ? Like if you’ve both established you love one another and said it before , should it matter if you don’t say it back every time it’s said to you ? Or should you being saying ily2 every time ? Opinions? Thoughts? Suggestions ? 🤓🤔

I mean, if you love them why not say it back? It’s not really just a plain sentence it does usually warrant a response. But if you don’t want to say it back, do you really love them? Unless they literally say it 30 times a day, then maybe have a chat with why they are doing that.

It depends on the relationship and the people in it. My husband and I say it all the time and always say it back. Every phone call ends with an I love you from both of us. Each time we leave the house we say it. Been together a total of 11 years now.

sometimes i dont say it back..and i do love him but i prefer to show him actions not words and its not a big deal

I feel like you should at least have a conversation about it. As if he is saying it all the time and now all of a sudden you don't responed everytime he might start overthinking/second guessing things. My bf and I don't say it all that often. Typically like once a day when one of us are leaving for work and we almost always say it back to each other.

Say what you feel. If you mean like after an argument one person says ily and the other pauses? If you don’t feel it then the relationship should be in question. You are never forced to speak, say when you feel
