Do you have close friends of other races?

Question

This is to see the reality of how integrated or segregated America is. If you have atleast 1 close friend of another race, more than 1, a couple close friends of multiple races ( rainbow coalition ) or none. This is not to be offensive but to understand the race issues in America.

I'm not activity choosing to not be close friends of other races, I'm just a recluse that doesn't have close friends 🤷 I get along with everyone I meet, does that count?

I think if you're not white, you're more likely to have diverse friends. I'm mixed Black and Korean and my husband is Guyanese. When we were planning a bigger wedding, before we  decided on a micro wedding, my bridesmaids were going to be Nigerian, Black, Colombian, and Jewish/White. My closest work friends, we actually get together outside of work, are Taiwanese, Jewish, and Scottish. I don't know if there's anything to this, but I've noticed that the white friends that I've stayed close to are Jewish and I haven't formed lasting relationships with white Christians.

So as a child into my early adulthood, the answer was no. Once I moved to college I made several friends of varying backgrounds. With my husband being in the army we make friends of many backgrounds also, I can't call any of them my close friends because people are always moving so I only get a year to maybe 3 years to have a wonderful friendship with someone and then one of us is moving.

I have very very few close friends. I definitely have a lot of white friends/am white. 
I have a Cambodian friend I was close to before she had a kid. I'm childless, so my friends who became moms got too busy/made more sense for them to get close to other moms? I guess?
In my youth I hung out with a guy who was half Mexican, and we were close. And he was one of the first ppl I kissed!
I don't know if this counts? But I kinda think it should? My partner is Jewish- and from Russia, but I think Jewish is certainly a minority group even if also considered white. My partner is definitely a close friend to me. 
And, my first close friend was also Jewish. 
But yes, as you may note, I have not gotten *that* close to a diverse group of people. I've met many people of various races and backgrounds, even hung out or went to their parties, where everyone was not white in the whole party, except me. I certainly like people of various races and backgrounds, but I don't get close to many people, and while I've had black friends and very friendly acquaintance type relationships, with cambodians, asians, black individuals, mexicans, arabs & muslims from various countries, etc, etc, I don't really get very close to them? Like it's just hard to completely connect. I've always thought it's because I am a weird nerd and have trouble communicating well as it is, so people of slightly differing backgrounds can be even harder to connect with. 
The main demographics I get close to are: white queer ppl of some variety and lonely white dudes 🙃🤔 and people who have cluster b traits. 
As far as LGBTQIA, I have plenty of representation among my closest friends.

I think it depends though, because I’m a mixed race person who works with a variety of Hispanic, South American, white, Jewish, black, etc. My best friends are people I’ve known for 20+ years and technically we’re a mixed bag. 
As I said, I’m mixed but my skin color is white. Two of my three best friends have white skin, but one is Hispanic and the other is white white (European descent). My other is mixed as well (Jamaican like me) but has black skin. 
I consider my group to be more than one but less than rainbow 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t really have a lot of close friends in general. When it comes to my whole circle of friends maybe 3% aren’t white. I grew up in South Carolina and the population itself is more diverse. White people are 68% of that population. My close friend group was pretty much all white but there are those peers that it’s like, we weren’t friends but we got along and remember each other fondly. I think it worth mentioning that to my memory all of my bullies and the people who gossiped about me were the white students. My peers of other races I remember we were either on friendly terms or just indifferent. 
From my own friend group there was really just one that wasn’t white and I hung out with often, especially when he was my neighbor. There was a couple when I was a child, an Asian boy who was a fantastic artist, and a black girl who I was actually pretty close with but of the hurricanes flooded her house and she had to move. I also remember do ou my grandmas coworker and her husband, she would babysit me sometimes and her husband mowed our lawn. Sweet man, he would let me ride on the mower with him and showed me the crab apples from the trees were safe to eat. I was nervous because we didn’t plant them and I didn’t know what they were until then 😅
After I graduated I moved to Maine. 95% white population, as I recall we are the second whitest state in the entire country, and that was a higher statistic when I first moved here. i haven’t really made so many friends in general, I had one black friend in the early years but he moved to California. 
Maine is like…secretly racist. It’s not so on display since the population is mostly white, but in a sense Mainers in the early 1900’s drove other races out of this once very diverse state, it was made difficult for non white people to establish themselves, get jobs and buy homes, and then tell the story that people of other races just don’t want to live here. Rarely is anyone openly racist but get to know people and what they say in private reveals the awful truth. But if you want to bring it into the light ask people how they feel about the Somalian population. They are a minority within the minority of non white people in Maine, but a lot of white Mainers will act like they Somalians have taken over and want to change our way of life. But I rarely even see them unless I’m in Portland because that’s the only area that welcomes them and really enables them to live there.

I have close work friends (they’re work FRIENDS not WORK friends, if that makes sense) who are diverse and from various backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures.
My family is zero percent diverse and I worry that the school/community I’m raising my children in is not diverse.

I’m Native American (and Cape Verdean). My boyfriend is black. My two closest friends, which are my bestie & her wife, are both white. My former close friends from high school are white. And, everyone else that I’m close with is family, so they’re either full Native American, or mixed race.
