Bridesmaid gift

So, I will be the maid of honour at my cousin's wedding and I am very grateful and happy I was chosen for this role.

I thought bridesmaids usually gift the couple something, to congratulate them on this big step.

However, the bride said I don't have to gift anything, as I am already spending 200 Euros on the bridesmaid dress the bride wanted to be custom made.

I still have every intention of giving her a gift, but now I'm unsure of the dimensions... i was going to give her 100 euros folded in flowers and hung on a letter I wrote for the couple. Since I know they need money more than any other thing.

What would you do? Gift, no gift, small gift?

Have you ever been in this situation before, and what did you do?
