Toddler blankets ..what kind???

What is the safest blanket to offer my son this winter. He has never slept with one and I know eventually I will introduce one (potentially this winter when he is 18 months). Im just curious if there a fabric or brand you all found to be safest and comfortable! Thanks!

This is what I offered to my son when he was old enough. We used the sleep sacks for him until he was around 2, so he already loved the feel of Woolino products and he took to the blanket right away. They are a nice weight, plus wool helps to regulate your temperature.

A tiny throw blanket! We use one for our 2.5 year old and it's much much bigger than she is (width and height). We didn't use one at 18 months. She slept in fleece footie pajamas. You could still use a sleepsack as a blanket. My daughter hated them
