Depends… is he aware of their horrible behaviour and actively setting boundaries? We can’t choose our families unfortunately, and sometimes they’re just shitty people. I wouldn’t end a relationship in this case.
But, if he’s actively defending their inappropriate behaviour and downplaying the whole thing like it’s no big deal, yes that would be a possibly divorcable issue for me. If you’re going to go through the entire marriage with verbal and emotional abuse with no support from your partner, that’s really not a good place to be.

I have in laws from hell, and no I will not divorce my husband for it. However, should my husband not stand up for me and take my side then that's a different story.

I would expect him to back me up. Not to fight his family, not even to distance himself from them but to back me up and defend me whenever needed. 
If that was not present, and I felt alone in this fight than I would probably consider.

Depends. I’m currently in that situation with his father. He father started calling me nasty names last year and I refuse to have anything to do with him anymore. My husband didn’t handle it the way I was hoping he would. Hasn’t talked to him about it just cut him off. I know he still talks to him from time to time but I feel like he should’ve stuck up for me more. I told him that I hope this doesn’t affect me and his relationship. My husband is not confrontational but the way I see it is I’m his wife and he should’ve stuck up for me more.

I think this depends how they handle it. My family is a nightmare and aided many fights between us but after trying and trying I cut them out about 5 years ago. When I had my daughter his mom lost her damn mind and was so horrible to me and he just wouldn’t do anything or see it and it got bad. I ended up having it out with his mom and told him I’m out I will no longer deal with her shit when o have done nothing to her and I put my foot down when my family was that way and since he isn’t doing the same I’m done. He called and let her have it and we didn’t talk to her for months until she learned her place and he told her if I ever leave him because of her she is dead to him.
