Pregnant immediately after c-section “wait time”?

So of course there is the standard 6 week wait to have sex after giving birth, regardless of a VBAC or c section, but I was curious if anyone having success with pregnancy right after their c section? I mean, after waiting the 6 weeks and being cleared by doctor for sex?

The reason I ask is because I do not want to get on a hormonal birth control right now, and when our wait to have sex is up, we are planning on letting nature take its course for our second baby if that’s in the cards for us. OB said there’s no issue with me getting pregnant right away, but our nurses also advised us that a second pregnancy so close would absolutely result in another c section, which I’m fine with. If we have our preference, we would like two children close together in age, and don’t intend on trying for more than that.

Obviously, I could just not get pregnant right away, which is fine also! I just wanted reassurance that if we did, that others have seen success as well. Thanks all!

Thanks for the input! I think I’m just gonna get a second opinion from another OB, and play it safe to not get pregnant right away. It sounds like maybe my OB either didn’t understand my question or maybe I’m under the impression we were talking about something different. Leaving this thread up so if anyone else has this question in the future, they can see the responses. Thank you again!
