Birth plans

Have any of you had a birth plan that was successful, aka you had the birth you planned for? I’m trying to write a birth plan but my ob basically writes it off and just says that her only goal is to have a healthy mom and baby at the end of the deliver and doesn’t really recommend a plan cause they always fail and ‘when you write a plan, it’s like the universe sees it and nothing works out the way you thought’. I’m switching obs cause I’m moving out of state, but I haven’t heard much in terms of confidence in writing a birth plan and it working to your advantage. This is my first birth so I don’t know what to expect
