Long rant.

Yesim

This may be a long rant so I apologise in advance!

My daughter is 2 years and 2 months. She is super smart, bright and full of emotions.

When she was a baby she was a great eater, then she went on to be a good eater at around 1 years old and now for the past 4 months she is just a nightmare to feed.

She isnt picky in the sence that she doesnt like the food being served but more so she tries to eat her food in ways that even I cant wrap my head around. When we sit to eat she will eat normally maybe 2 spoon fulls and then its all down hill from there. She will load her spoon up and then brush the spoon on her teeth with the food on it as if she is brushing her teeth 🤦‍♀️ thats not even the last of it.. she also gets her hands and washes them in the food and tries to eat like a cat/dog 🤦‍♀️ this is every meal time!!!!! honestly takes all of me to stay calm but after the third time of trying to redirect her i have to get her off the baby seat and say ok food time is over otherwise I could potentially lose my shit!!

she has her usual meals through the day plus snacks BUT my god!!!!! Every 10 mins she is saying mum give me something or when the kitchen gate is open she will rush in there and go to eat absolutely everything… oh and when i say eat i mean take a bite and go find something else to bite. If anyone heard her you would think I never feed her the way she constantly asks for snacks lol She just plays with food and i dont know where she got the ‘play with food association from’. Sometimes i end up making her a three course meal just for lunch or dinner because she just doesnt consume enough.

One more thing, lately she has been saying things like im scared when she wants to get out of something and she has started to put her hands over her ears when she hears noises she doesnt like.. these are random not all the time.

You can have a full conversation with her but she is so overly active… i cant read a book to her, she just wants to jump from one thing to another.

Is anyone elses toddler like this? I will call tomorrow to ask for advice also but just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this. Is this normal 2 year old behaviour, especially the food thing?

If you got this far thank you :)
