How Should A Man Show That He Loves You?

Hello all. I’m just wanting opinions from everyone on how you know a man loves you/is passionate about or you, or like how a man is supposed to show that he loves you? I know that everyone shows their love differently. But I’ve been seeing a lot of women getting abused; whether it’s mentally or physically by their significant other, for the man to come back and say, “I do this because I love you baby.” Which I know isn’t normal behavior. For a man to threaten you, mentally/physically abuse you, and manipulate you, amongst other things, all because of love, shouldn’t how things should be and obviously it turns the woman off, and shows the women differently, thinking that he hates her, then sometimes cops are involved.
