Advice? TW: Domestic Abuse + Child services

My friend and her now ex partner had been dating a year. The abuse was toxic and abusive from apparently both parties.

I had to call the police out of fear for my friends life.

The ex partner has now left, however my friend is worried she is going to lose her child. (The ex partner is not the father, The child father and my friend are co-parenting)

I did explain that the child was NOT there during any of the arguments and assaults.

Is there anything I can do to explain more to the police that the child was NOT there during any of the disputes to try make sure her son doesn’t get taken away?

Before anyone comments “you should of just not reported anything” .. I was fearful of my friends life, she sent me videos of his actions. I refused to continue to sit around anymore.
