Infant or convertible seat?

Would y’all recommend starting out with an infant seat or convertible car seat for a new born? Pros and cons of each??

I have both and really either is good. I think the biggest pro and con I could think of, would be that with all the quick appointments in and outs, the infant car seat is easy especially if you have a snap base, however our convertible car seats to me, seems safer, and in the long run are cheaper because you’re only buying one car seat…🤷‍♀️It’s really just gonna come down to personal preference, but I loved both…

I have both and prefer the convertible car seat for safety reasons. It supports his head and neck much better than the infant car seat we got (which wasn’t a particularly expensive one).
We have the Graco 4ever DLX 4 in 1 car seat and my baby was preemie, 4lbs14oz when he left the hospital and fit in it perfectly. It felt very safe and it’s super easy to get him in and out of. He doesn’t fuss at all or anything. 
We bought one of the cheap Graco infant seats to have in my husband’s truck and his head does not seem as secure, we have to buy an extra back pad with head supports. It is convenient as far as clicking in and out of the base, but that’s really it as far as the pros go for me.

I originally planned to only use a convertible so I wouldn’t have to repurchase. But we were given an infant car seat and used it all of the time. I ended up being thankful for it because of the ease of getting baby in and out and not having to wake her up at every stop. I am definitely going to use the infant seat this time around since baby will be born during colder months and I want to be able to get her bundled up and fastened in inside where it’s warm versus in the cold with the car door open.

I like the infant seat at first so I can keep it covered in the store or in poor weather, don’t have to wake baby if they’re napping while I run errands, and can pop it right into the stroller.

Convertible was more cost effective, didn’t see the point in buying something that gets grow out of in 6months/1year. Plus once the car stopped moving without fail my kid would wake up
