Family wants to watch son pee

Ok so this is like kind of weird to me, wondering if anyone else had to deal with this

My son is newly potty trained. He is the “baby” of the family, and his cousins are ages 7-12. We go to my MILS every Sunday, and his cousins are there (theres 6 of them)

So he’s been potty trained for only 2 weeks and still needs help in the bathroom. So when he has to go, he tells me, and I bring him to the bathroom. All his cousins stop what they are doing and all follow us to the bathroom to watch. They used to do this with diaper changes too.

I really don’t like it, like my son deserves some privacy when he goes to the bathroom. I had to kick them out of the bathroom three times last Sunday and I thinking this Sunday will be the same thing. And he doesn’t like it either . He has a limited vocabulary, so he doesn’t actually tell me he doesn’t like it, but he covers his face with his hands and shakes his head no when they all come in and I tell them to leave, he just needs a little privacy and he will be right out.

My sister in law told me I am “being weird” for kicking the kids out, and the kids just want to see him “do a new thing” like it’s a performance. I just don’t think he needs a whole audience

Am I being weird? I mean I don’t care if I am, I still don’t like it. Is this normal with cousins?

People asking why I don’t close the door- I do close the door- when my son has to go to the bathroom he says “potty potty potty potty” and the other kids immediately stop what they are doing and head to the bathroom- sometimes they get in there before we even do and I have to tell them to leave-I don’t have him go with the door opened they literally spring up as soon as they hear the word “potty”
