Is this sus? Last name

Question

My husband is military he refers basically everyone he knows by their last name, females, males, his best friends literally calls them from their last name.
He gets a text while he was showing me a video on his phone from a girl named “Jess”. I didn’t pry and look but he said it was someone from his company asking him for something he didn’t go into detail, which is weird because even the people I know from his company he refers to them by their last name. Not someone I heard about before and he was a little weird about it. Am I overthinking this

My husband has been in 9 years. He’s never referred to his coworkers by their first name..like ever. Even outside of work at get together. I would be a bit wary.

He may call her by her last name when they talk, just put her in his phone as her first name. Never know. Also, did he say it was a girl? I know a guy who goes by Jess.

Depends. Has he gave you reason to not trust him before? My ex called people by their last name in the military, but it was common for him to save their numbers under their first names. Some people's last names could also be considered a first name or she might just not like being called by her last name. Military also give nicknames (especially if 2 people have the same last name) so it could be her nickname. I've also been sent numbers by others & it would save the name as how the person had it saved in their phone. There's way too many variables here. Talk to him and go to couples counseling bc there's clearly no trust in this relationship.

I'm not familiar with the military but what if she doesn't like being called by her last name? It seems like everyone does it based on the comments but what happens if someone doesn't like it? I guess all you can do is ask him about it further

Ex husband was military. Other military friends were always called by last name. Their spouses were called by first name, and the civilian workers in the lab were also called by first name. Only other military friends were called by last name.

She might just have a long and strange last name, or that same last name as someone else. On top of that men have a tendency to not talk about things they don't think are important. She might be so unimportant or annoying to him that he dosent have any respect for her and dosent consider her close enough to him to call her by her last name. If he was cheating hez more likely to give her a code name and use a burner phone to contact her, your man is military, he's highly disciplined and trained and its obviously instilled in him.Chill out, your being paranoid and overthinking it....
